Others would say The Force Unleashed, or the continuation of the Expanded Universe in Legacy of the Force soon to be continued in Fate of the Jedi. For collectors, it might be the pre-order of eFX Collectibles' X-Wing, the end of the Master Replicas line, or the BMF. Maybe it was Midnight Madness; maybe it was San Diego Comic Con.
All of this is recalled and discussed with the benefit of time in our Star Wars Action News staff year in review roundtable! Listen as Kevin, Jason, Jerry, Scott, Steve, Arnie, and Marjorie talk about the highs, the lows, and perhaps most importantly the toys of Star Wars in 2008.

2009 will not be quite as busy on the Star Wars entertainment front, but it will nonetheless be another exciting year for Hasbro's Star Wars brand. We hope the Q&A will continue to serve as a helpful forum for engaging fans and communicating news and information.

The video gives an overview of the upcoming story-driven massively multiplayer online PC game set in the timeframe of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic franchise and provides the public with its first look at in-game footage.
In Star Wars: The Old Republic, players will explore an age thousands of years before the rise of Darth Vader when war between the Old Republic and the Sith Empire divides the galaxy. Players can choose to play as Jedi, Sith, or a variety of other classic Star Wars roles, defining their personal story and determining their path down the light or dark side of the Force. Along the way, players will befriend courageous companions who will fight at their side or possibly betray them, based on the players’ actions. Hasbro Legacy Wave Clarification for 2009
December 10, 2008 | 1:27 PM EST | Jayson Hasbro sends words that the initial response to the following Star Wars Q&A question from this past round was incomplete and seems to have caused some confusion in the broader collector-fan community.
Question: (from Han's Hideout)
Just to clear up some confusion, can you confirm the order of the waves next year? We're pretty sure 2009 (or maybe late 2008) starts with the 8 figures from ANH, then comes the 6-figure ESB themed Wave 2, followed by the 6-figure RotJ themed Wave 3? Is that right?
Answer:
To clarify, the 2009 basic figure order looks like this: Spring consists of EpIV (8 figures), EpV (6 figures), EpII (6 figures), and EpVI (8 figures). Fall will see four waves: EpIV (8 figures), EpI (6 figures), EpIII (6 figures), and EpV (6 figures) for a total of 54 figures. A 9th wave, the EU wave (6 figures), has slipped to be on-shelf right now around late Dec/early Jan so we are not counting that in the 2009 count, unless we are able to bring that one back in.

It seems that a method has been found to roll back the clock and unyellow toys! Our friends at Galactic Hunter brought this knowledge to the Star Wars fan community from a post over on the Transformers Forum. As Adam points out, this is new, so we don't know what the long term affects may be, but if those chicken, err yellow, Stormtroopers are really bother you, it may be worth the chance. Toyguide Update: Battle at the Sarlacc Pit

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with my latest acquisition from the Legacy Collection the Target Exclusive Battle at the Sarlacc Pit Ultimate Battle Pack. Debate on this piece has been most frenetic since its debut at Comic-Con last July, and reached a fever pitch when the pricing for this (and the Clone Wars UBP) skyrocketed from last year's semi-reasonable $49.00 to this year's $62.99-$72.99 pricepoints.
At first glance you'd think that the figures included in this set were all straight repacks of previous releases, especially since a similarly themed Battle Pack was released in 2006, but that's not the case. Weequay, Han and Lando all have obvious deco differences from their previous releases and Luke's head and hands have been molded in an awful light color plastic featuring the worst facial paint application in modern collecting history. The desert skiff is a repaint of the mold released in 1999 during the POTF2 era and still holds up quite well considering the original design dates back to 1984. The main attraction for this set is obviously the Sarlacc Pit from the ROTJ Special Edition. Underneath the flimsy gloss plastic sand dune, which ultimately only serves as window dressing for you dwindling MIB collectors, the Sarlacc is a rather awesome piece. It features rows of rubbery teeth, posable tentacles and removable Little Shop of Horrors-esque beak.
When taking into consideration we're getting a $20 mid-size vehicle, a $20 battle pack of figures and an all new creature that looks just as good with either vintage or modern figures trapped in it's ugly mouth, the price for this latest Ultimate Battle Pack is easier to swallow. (Pun intended)
