On April 21 and 22, Disney is holding a special VIP event to showcase new product coming to their Disney Stores as well as a tour of their merchandising headquarters. Everything is hush-hush for now in terms of what will be shown but thankfully we will be on-site to report the reveals and announcements firsthand! As usual there’s a roundup of the latest news and rumors and our regular visit to Steve Sansweet at Rancho Obi-Wan (the home to the world’s largest Star Wars collection) – all not to be missed!
If you have a Kmart in your area, you may want to head there quick to see if they have any Scanning Crew sets yet – as stores have dropped the price down to $10 per set through 4/19! Be aware though that it’s unconfirmed if this is a national sale or not.
Of note, their clearance toys are an additional 50% off through 4/19 – there are some great buys to be had, mostly non-Star Wars items; but the 31″ Vader is currently marked down for a very low price too.

Finally, Gentle Giant is teasing a mystery announcement exclusive to Action Figure Insider on April 21. Judging by the graphic, I suspect it being something Jumbo in nature and tied to The Empire Strikes Back. If I were to venture a guess, I’d say that it will be a Jumbo Kenner Tauntaun.
Gentle Giant has also announced their next release in the Vintage Life-Size Monument line – Darth Vader!
Gentle Giant has announced today a new Star Wars Rebels Maquette featuring heroes Ezra & Chopper. Scheduled for release in early 2015, this piece captures the look and feel of the animated characters while serving as a great companion piece to the Inquisitor maquette coming later this year.
Disney Publishing Worldwide & Lucasfilm announced today four new books to introduce readers to the classic Star Wars saga.
“Lucasfilm announced today, via Publishers Weekly, four brand new books aimed at introducing new readers to the classic Star Wars saga by bridging the ‘multi-arc storyline in anticipation of the release of Star Wars Episode VII in December 2015.’”

Entertainment Earth has posted pre-orders for wave 4 of The Black Series 6″ line. The pre-order confirms SWAN’s rumor of Chewbacca being delayed and having a couple sought after figures carried forward.
The guys at TwelfthParsec have written in to let us know about an update on their campaign to deliver some cool Ewok related items to the market (including playsets). They have met their fundraising goal, but have been able to extend their campaign a bit longer with some new stretch goals in mind, and for each goal met, contributors will get special perks with additional accessories with their order.
