DisneyParksBlog has announced two new additions to their Star Wars D-Tech Me line of figures. Star Wars Weekends attendees can now choose from the Jedi Knight or TIE Fighter Pilot.
First introduced in May 2012, Star Wars – D-Tech Me is a 10-minute experience that uses the world’s highest-resolution, single-shot 3D face scanner created by Imagineering scientists with Disney Research labs. The captured image is later sent to a high resolution 3D printer to create the figurine. This year, the experience will be located inside Darth’s Mall, near Streets of America across from Studio Catering Company.
Star Wars Weekends 2015 kicks off May 15 – June 14.

Reader Tim M. sends this report (and reminder) from his local Kohl’s store in Sacremento
Went to Kohl’s today in Sacramento area of California and came across this end cap of Rebels figures, the 2 packs were $14.99 with 10% off.
Thanks Tim! I really like that display tray that they are sitting in too. Hmmm….
There’s rumblings among fans (though nothing is confirmed, so don’t freak out yet) that Hasbro may be abandoning the quality of figures so many of us have grown to know and love over the years in favor of a 5POA-only line for the upcoming Episode VII 3.75″ scale line.
If Hasbro did go this route, how would this affect your buying habits? Would you be pleased? Freaked out? Done altogether? Would you even care? Share your thoughts here or join in the debate in our forums!
Vinylmation World alerts us that in commemoration of Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary, they will be issuing an exclusive R2-D60 Droid Factory figure. It will be limited to 6000 pieces and retail for $12.95.

Update: Our friends at The Astromech Collection pass on info that the R2-D60 will be available in a much wider release and not limited to 6000 pcs.
In what will surely provide great joy and additional grist for the mill to a certain segment of collectors, there is word from Andrew’s Toyz via Facebook that Hasbro has discontinued current cases assortments for the Saga Legends/Rebels line.
Hasbro has discontinued the current Saga Legends figure assortments and will not be making additional shipments. We may receive some cases of Wave 7, but we are not sure at this time. While unconfirmed, this is likely to devote resources towards The Force Awakens product line.
We have reached out to Hasbro via Hunter PR for any comment.
UPDATE: We have clarification from our sponsor at DorksideToys, the current cases assortments are sold out (not canceled) and won’t see another production run.
The next installment in the Darth Vader series from Marvel is now available via your local comic book store. You can also purchase and download the digital version through Marvel’s Digital Comic Shop.

Customizing legend sillof (Jamie Follis) will be hosting a customizing panel at Star Wars Celebration on Friday, April 17th from 12pm-1pm. Work from some of the Yakface forum members your are familiar with will be featured in this panel. This will be the second time that Jamie has lead up this event, and if your are going to be at C7 and enjoy customizing or are interested in getting started, you ought to make an effort to attend.
At this panel, Jamie Follis will give attendees a complete overview of the process of creating or modifying your own action figures. The panel will have something for newcomers as well as seasoned customizers including an introduction to the hobby, different types of customizing, instructions, suggestions, and tips on the hobby, and a showcase of some of the most creative fan made figures. Instructions will range from construction, to sculpting, painting, casting and 3-D printing your own pieces. A few lucky attendees will receive random prices. Jamie will also be hosting customizing classes daily at the Diorama Workshop area in the main showroom throughout the convention.
As you’ve seen the panel schedule for Celebration Anaheim has been released and conspicuously absent from the listing was a dedicated Hasbro panel. We can confirm that Hasbro will NOT be offering a panel/presentation as in years past – only a booth presence throughout the event.
As Obi-Wan said, “Patience”.
The Star Wars Celebration site has also updated with the full event schedule. Check it out here and plan accordingly, there will be A LOT to take in.

What if there was an Empire-focussed short Star Wars animation, drawn with the crazy detail and shading of classic 80s anime that’s all but vanished from Japan nowadays?
Well, I tried my best. Apologies in advance for not living up to Venus Wars standards.
Drawn and animated by yours truly over 4 years’ worth of weekends, with music by the living guitar solo Zak Rahman and sound design by up and coming audio technician Joseph Leyva. Fans of Lucasarts’ seminal 1994 TIE Fighter game may notice a few familiar sights and sounds. That “incoming missile” noise gives me horrible flashbacks to this day…
